Langtang valley is situated directly north of Kathmandu in the Central Himalayan Region. This area was declared a National Park in 1976 and remains the second largest Park in Nepal, covering 1710 sq.km. Mountainous terrain south of Nepal-Tibet (China) border. Within its boundaries are some 45 villages, with the main objective of the park is to preserve the regions by allowing the local to follow the traditional land use practices which are compatible with resource protection.
Itinerary
DAY 1: Kathmandu
Included meal: DinnerAfter arriving in Kathmandu Airport through Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be received by a representative from Arihant Holidays. You will be escorted to your Hotel. We schedule a Welcome Dinner for you in an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will be entertained by Nepalese cultural program as well as feast upon an excellent ethnic Nepali meal. DAY 2: Kathmandu

After a delicious breakfast spend the day visiting some of the popular sights of Kathmandu. Also fulfil all necessary purchase and packing in preparation of the upcoming treks. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
DAY 3: Kathmandu-Syabrubesi: 8 hours by bus

We catch a bus from Kathmandu in the early morning and head towards Syabrubesi following the winding ways along the north-western hillside. Overnight stay at Syabrubesi.
DAY 4: Syabrubesi-Lama Hotel: 5-6 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerWe begin the trek across the suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi. We hike past villages to reach the banks of Langtang Khola. After crossing the bridge over the river we trail alongside the south bank of the river. We trail past the ups and downs of the terrain and through dense forests filled with a variety of wildlife. We trek across more suspension bridges before we reach the Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
DAY 5: Lama Hotel- Langtang: 5- 6 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerThe trek to Lantang is a steep climb through a jungle of hemlocks, oaks, maples and white and pink rhododendrons. Catch a glimpse of the Lamtang Lirung peaking through the trees. We ascend up to a pass marked with prayer flags, pass through a U-shaped glacial valley and past several water driven mills to reach Langtang. Overnight stay at Langtang.
DAY 6: Langtang - Kyanjin Gompa: 4-5 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerWe follow the trail to a large chorten located on a ridge, climb past an impressive mani wall to a small village. Ahead we find a huge boulder dressed in prayer flags. We climb up a moraine and head towards the monastery of Kyanjin Gompa and the icefalls flowing from the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung. We follow the trail descending below the Kyanjin Gompa to stop for the day. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
DAY 7: Kyanjin Gompa: explore day
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerHome to the Nyingmapa school monastery enjoy the amazing view of the Mountains. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
DAY 8: Kyanjin Gompa- Lama Hotel: 5-6 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerWe retract our steps descending down from Kyanjin Gompa towards Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
DAY 9: Lama Hotel - Thulo Syabru: 5-6 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerDescending alongside the river and through a forest of pine and juniper forests we head towards Thulo Syabru, enjoying the beautiful views of the Langtang Himal. Overnight stay at Thulo Syabru.
DAY 10: Thulo Syabru- Shin gomba: 3-5 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerClimb up a steep hill and through a forest of hemlock and oak to an ancient looking chorten. Descend down through a rhododendron forest and pastures catching the views of the Ganesh himal. Walking through a silent moss covered forest to the head of a valley coming across the ridge top where Shin Gomba is located. Overnight stay at Shin Gomba.
DAY 11: Shin gomba- Gosainkunda: 5-6 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerClimb up a steep ridge making a transition form a rich moist mountain landscape to dry scrub vegetation. Enjoy the scenery beauty of the Langtang valley as you enter the Gosaikunda protected area. Ascending up to the alpine country above the tree line where you will come across a pair of tall stone pillars that reads “Welcome to Gosaikunda”. We follow the trail marked by prayer flags and past two rock carving of Ganesh to finally reach the largest lake Gosainkunda. There is a black rock in the middle of the lake believed to be the head of Shiva. Overnight stay at Gosaikunda.
DAY 12: Gosainkunda- Gopte: 6-8 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerFrom the northern side of the Gosaikunda Lake, climb the rocky terrain marked with cairns to reach a pass. From there descend down alongside the stream and through a knee busting route until we reach the middle of the valley. We climb through the scrub bamboo trail to cross the head of the valley before descending down across moraines to a dry stream and through forests littered with ravines. We reach Gopte when we cross a ridge marked with prayer flags. Overnight stay at Gopte.
DAY 13: Gopte- Malemchigaon: 6-7 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerWe descend down a forested area and walk across a dry river bed to reach the Melamchi River. Then we climb the final length to reach Malemchigaon. Overnight stay at Malemchigaon.
DAY 14: Malemchigaon - Tarke Gyang: 5-7 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerFrom Malemchigon we trek onwards to Tarke Gyang in the Helambu region. With narrow cobbled lanes and tightly packed house, get to know the Sherpa culture and visit their traditional monasteries. Overnight stay at Tarke Gyang.
DAY 15: Tarke Gyang- Sermathang: 3-5 hours
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerWe start our trek with a great view of the Helembu region as you travel across a small forest. The village is the home to three large Gompas. Overnight stay at Sermathang.
DAY 16: Sermathang- Melamchi Puul Bazaar -Kathmandu : 3-4 hours; 2 hour bus
Included meal: Breakfast, Lunch, DinnerWe walk a short way to Melamchi Puul Bazaar. From there we catch a bus heading for Kathmandu. We will organize a Farewell dinner in your honor to celebrate the successful completion of your trek to Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda in the evening. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
DAY 17: Final Departure
Included meal: BreakfastIt’s now time to say goodbye to the mountains as you prepare for your departure. You can squeeze in some last minute sightseeing and shopping. A representative from Arihant Holidays.com will escort you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
